Music Class

Dear Parents,
Today in music class, we learned about Irish dancing! (Riverdances)! We watched a video about Irish dancing. Then she gave us a chance to try it ourselves. There are Irish dance lessons on YouTube if you would like to learn. Also to be a Irish dancer you have to wear a special type of tap shoes, but you don't have to be Irish. Because there is some Irish dancers that are from America that do it. You could be a girl or a boy you can still be a Irish dancer. When we got the chance to riverdance, it was pretty hard! (They make it look EASY!) I think it probably takes a year to learn Irish dancing (because they are super fast!) If you are up for a challenge, try Irish step dancing!

Weather Vane!

Dear Parents,
Today we made a science project called a weather vane. It shows where the wind is coming from. ( north, east, south, & west.) When the wind blows into one of the cups, the weather vane will spin around and the arrow will face where the wind is coming from. We used three plastic cups, a pencil without an eraser, a pin, a straw, a bead, a paper arrow, and a paper plate. You can just hold it anywhere outside, and when it's windy, it will show you what direction the wind is coming from! Some people went to the back of the room to make there's and others did it at their table.

Library rocks

Dear parents,
Today in our specials class we went to library!! It was AWESOME! Two weeks ago we started are non-fiction power point. Since then we have made a lot of progress. First we had to get a bunch of pictures so we could put them on our slides! Second we had to find info on Google Chrome. Then we wrote the info on a paper. Today's lesson we started our power point and typed the info on our new slides. There were so many topics to pick from. Here are some of the topics our class picked.... Dolphins, blue whales, China, turtles, bobcats and California! We hope we finish them in time to show our parents!

Master Masks

Dear Parents,
Today in art, we started to make our masks! It was really awesome but first we had to doodle them on a piece of paper! Second, we wrapped tin foil around a plastic face model. Third, we had to get this clear glue (also known for paste) that we had to dip news paper into and put it on the mask! (Yuck) We had to cover the model in three lairs of paper mâché. It was messy, slimy, but FUNNNNNN!!!!! :-) You should really try to do this project. Just remember to wear gloves!!!!!!:-)

Wind Gauges

Dear Parents,
Today we learned to make a anemometer-it is a wind gauge. (It measures how many miles per hour the wind is going.) We tested it today. The highest the meter could get is 10 mph. The highest the meter did get today was at least 8mph. We have to point the arrow where the wind was coming from. That is how it worked. It would not work and would go TERRIBLY, TERRIBLY, TERRIBLY WRONG if you faced the wrong direction. And that is what we did science today!!!

The Sisters Grimm

Dear Parents,
Today we started a new book called "The Sisters Grimm." It's about two sisters named Sabrina and Daphne. They are orphans because their parents dissapeared years ago. All that was left in the car was a BLOODY HANDPRINT!! (DUN, DUN, DUUUUUNNNNN) They left to a city called Ferryport Landing, and are supposed to live with their grandma, but their dad told them their grandma was dead. They met their "grandma", who was alive...... They think she is an imposter! SWEET DREAMS!

Neon Dance!

Dear Parents,
Today is the neon dance, you are invited! Yesterday, the teacher handed out shirts for the neon dance. The neon dance starts at 7:00 - 9:00. There is going to be games, a DJ, refreshments and so many other things. At the dance, there will be fluorescent markers so you can write on your shirts to make them glow..... I guess that's why it's called Neon Dance. To go to the party there has to be an adult with you to attend. You can put cool designs on your shirt it's going to be a blast! You can not drop off your child-you have to stay with them the whole time. So what are you going to do at the neon dance?
