Building Germs

This week we made germs they are made of cotten balls, buttons, popsicle sticks, spaghetti, and markers. They look mean scary and they have things on their body that mach their symptoms. Some of are symptoms were runny nose, headache, stomachache, and sore throat. Look at our photos to see Dayton and Stu's germ.

Health

In health we have learned that there are 2 kinds of germs. One of them is bacteria and the other one is virus. We also learned that some diseases are not infectious. Colds and the flu can spread cancer and heart disease can not spread. In are class everybody has had a cold. Nobody has had heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. We also learned how to explain disease. We cut the words in half like this, dis-ease. Dis means not and ease means comfortable if you put those words together it means that disease means not comfortable illness.

Read Aloud

We just finished the book "Small Steps" by Peg Kehret.  It was about how she had polio when she was twelve. She started learning to walk again. Each day she took six steps and then did seven, eight and nine and soon she was walking! She showed Dr. Bevis she could walk and he was very proud. Then she went home after seven months.
